'Within public space, exists the potential for private inhabitation. Within private space, exists the potential for public inhabitation'. Richard Goodwin 2005
Below are some examples of demountable/portable buildings. They are all quite different in their intents and outcomes. One aspect they all share is the idea of portability, I like the idea of a building that can be built quickly and moved to new locations as nesseccary. I believe this kind of approach helps keep spaces active and vibrant.

Good progress. Your route along the way is clearly expressed. As you decide on appropriate mobile/temporary interventions and a newly modelled topography consider in detail connections to the existing/static fabric: What are the links between, connections for movement, functional relationships between. How does the new navigational system work?
ReplyDeleteTaking it to Week 10: What series of events can you define which represent your architectural fiction/proposal? Focus on a manageable piece of this new topography - perhaps a slice through, across, along - bringing out level differences, materials, servicing and more. And how will you represent your story?
